About Us

We are The Faithful Centurion, Inc (TFC). We humbly pray to God for our brothers and sisters in uniform who are Orthodox Christian service members. Additionally, we strive to provide them with the wisdom, training and liturgical resources they need most when geographically separated from an Orthodox Christian chaplain or parish. Like the faithful centurion, we have full faith that Christ our God will provide them (as we offer with our help) everything needed to glorify Him in worship.

Our Story

Founder and Director:

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Alexander Braszko Jr has served the United States Army for over 30 years. He graduated from West Point in 1997, where he was the Orthodox Christian cadet in charge (CIC), working with Father Sergious Gerken from St Vladimir’s Seminary, to coordinate Orthodox cadet activities at West Point. He received a commission in the United States Army in the Military Intelligence Corps, and completed over half his time in service as a Functional Area 40, Space Operations Officer.

His assignments include deployments to Korea, where he served as 1-506th INF (AASLT) Assistant S-2, Kosovo where he performed physical security assessments as SOCEUR J-2's Antiterrorism and Force Protection Officer, and Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, where he served as Combined Joint Task Force-Troy Counter-IED ACCM OIC. Additionally, at USSTRATCOM, Alex served as Space Control Targeting Team Chief, he was a company commander in the 743d MI Battalion, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado and at USAFRICOM, he served as Deputy IJSTO Chief, J399, during Operation ODYSSEY DAWN and Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR.

Over 22 years, Alex and his family experienced frequent challenges in finding Orthodox Christian religious support at various posts throughout the continental United States and when deployed overseas.

The Braszko’s experiences with the frustrations of not being able to fully worship with other Orthodox Christians and not having the resources required to do so inspired Alex, and his wife, Jessie, to create the 501c3 The Faithful Centurion, Inc (TFC).

The mission of TFC is to provide training, resources, and a network of Orthodox Christian support to geographically isolated Orthodox Christian Service Members serving around the world.

With God’s wisdom and guidance, they pray their efforts will assist Orthodox Christians in their spiritual walk as they selflessly serve their nation.
